What is Complex Inorganic Color Pigment?

What is Complex Inorganic Color Pigment?
High-temperature inorganic composite pigments, also known as Complex Inorganic Color Pigments (CICP) or Mixed Metal Oxide Pigment (MMO), are pigments with a stable crystal structure generated by calcining a variety of inorganic metal oxides at high temperatures (usually over 800°C). In the industry, Complex Inorganic Color Pigment is a modified iron oxide pigment with some different materials in between, and is also known as the high-end version of iron oxide pigment.

Product characteristics of Complex Inorganic Color Pigment
- High stability: Due to the high temperature calcination, Complex Inorganic Color Pigment has formed a stable crystal structure and therefore has a very high chemical and thermal stability.
- Excellent weathering resistance: CICP pigment is able to withstand the natural environment such as UV rays and humidity for a long time without fading or degradation.
- Chemical resistance: Strong resistance to acid and alkali environments, suitable for fields with high requirements for corrosion resistance.
- Environmentally friendly: iSuoChem Complex Inorganic Color Pigment does not contain harmful metals such as lead and cadmium, and meets the requirements of international environmental standards.

Main types of Complex Inorganic Color Pigment

According to the different crystal structures and compositions, high temperature inorganic composite pigments are mainly classified into rutile, spinel and hematite types.

At present, we mainly promote these below codes for Complex Inorganic Color Pigments.

1. Chrome Antimony Titanium Buff Pigment Brown 24 PBr.24

2. Nickel Antimony Titanium Yellow 53 PY.53

3. Zinc Ferrites Yellow 119 PY.119

4. Bismuth Vanadate Yellow 184 PY.184

5. Cobalt Aluminate Blue 28 PB.28

6. Cobalt Violet 14 PV.14

7. Cobalt Titanate Green 50 PG.50

8. Chrome Oxide Green 17 PG.17

9. Iron Chrome Brown 29 PBr.29

10. Copper Chromite Black 28 PBk.28

11. Complex Inorganic Color Pigment Red

Application Fields:
- Coatings: Such as fluorocarbon coating system, highly weatherable coil polyester system and water-based acrylic exterior coatings being promoted, which are widely used because of their high solar reflectivity and excellent weather resistance.
- Ceramics and Glass: During the firing process of ceramics, Complex Inorganic Color Pigment can keep their structure and color unchanged at high temperatures, providing lasting colors for ceramic products. Meanwhile, they are also used as glass colorants.
- Plastic: In the process of plastic processing, the heat resistance and chemical stability of Complex Inorganic Color Pigment make it an ideal colorant in high temperature processing.
- Others: They are also widely used in industrial coatings, inks, painting coatings, and high-end fields such as automotive and aviation.

With the increasingly strict environmental regulations and the increasing demand for high performance materials, the application of complex inorganic color pigment has a bright future. In the future, CICP technology will develop more in the direction of customization, combining nanotechnology, coating technology and environmental protection material application to provide efficient and environmentally friendly color solutions for more high-end fields.
